Apple and onion jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g apples
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 125 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 250 g gelling sugar 3:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel, core, and dice the apples. Peel and dice the onion. Place both in a saucepan with the balsamic vinegar. Add the preserving sugar and simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Test for settling. Then pour the hot jam into clean twist-off jars, close the lids, turn upside down for about 5 minutes, then turn them upside down again and let cool. This type of “jam” goes well with roasted dishes or as a spread.
