  • 2 eggs
  • 125 g flour
  • 30 g butter, melted
  • 20 ml beer
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • rum
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Allgäu style: Apple fritters a little different

Peel the apples (or not—it’s fine), core them, slice them, and marinate them in rum. Put the flour in a bowl, add the salt and sugar, and mix with the beer. The batter should be thick (slightly thicker than regular pancake batter). Gently mix with the eggs until the batter is nice and smooth. Then stir in the melted butter. Heat the oil to 150°C (300°F), carefully place the apple slices in the deep fryer or pan, after dipping them in the batter. Bake until golden brown, then drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm immediately.
