Yeast cake with apples and crumble

Using the dough hook on a mixer, knead the above ingredients for the yeast dough thoroughly for 15-20 minutes. Then let it rise for about 40 minutes in a warm place, e.g. in front of a heater. While the dough is rising, peel about 7 large apples and cut them into thick slices. After it has risen, work the dough again well with your hands (dusted with flour) and let it rise for another 10 minutes. During this time you can prepare the crumble topping. To do this, take the ingredients listed below and mix them well with a mixer. Finally, knead with your hands. After it has risen, roll out the dough well on a baking tray (lined with baking paper) using a rolling pin. Stick the apple slices into the dough and press down firmly. Now spread the crumble topping over the cake with your hands. Bake for about 30 minutes at 180 degrees. Check occasionally to make sure it doesn’t get too dark. Lower the temperature if necessary. If you like, you can enjoy the cake with cream, but it is also delicious without.
