Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 500 g quark (low-fat quark)
  • 75 g butter
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 large lemon(s), juice and zest
  • 4 eggs
  • 350 g apples, sour
  • 1 packet of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fat or oil for frying
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon

super juicy and delicious

Cream together butter, sugar, salt, eggs, lemon juice and zest until fluffy. Knead in the flour, yeast, and quark. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes. Peel, core, and finely dice the apples. Add to the dough and mix well. Heat fat or oil to about 190°C. Using 2 tablespoons, form small dumplings and fry for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Roll in sugar or cinnamon sugar while hot and enjoy while still warm. Makes about 20 dumplings.
