Apple – Pear – Peach – Onion – Chutney

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g apples
  • 500 g pear(s)
  • 500 g peach(s)
  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 1 bulb(s) garlic
  • 4 chili peppers, red
  • 500 ml vinegar (fruit vinegar)
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 300 g sugar
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 2 bell peppers, red

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel or trim the apples, pears, peaches, onions, bell peppers, and garlic, and dice them into small pieces. Combine the vinegar, sugar, curry powder, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir in all the diced ingredients and simmer over medium heat for about an hour. If necessary, puree the mixture with a hand blender until it reaches the desired consistency. Finally, season to taste with additional spices and pour the mixture into prepared jars while still hot. It’s perfect with meat, fish, and vegetables, or simply as a spread on fresh bread.
