Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 350 g flour
  • 200 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 10 ml vanilla syrup
  • 50 g cranberries
  • 6 large apples
  • 50 ml maple syrup
  • 1 handful of oat flakes
  • Cinnamon
  • 20 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

with oat flakes and maple syrup

Stir together the flour, melted butter, sugar, one egg, vanilla sugar, and vanilla syrup until a firm dough forms. Form into a ball and let it rest in the refrigerator for one hour. Meanwhile, toast the handful of oats and soak the cranberries in water. Peel, quarter, and slice the apples, mix everything together, and season with maple syrup and cinnamon. Roll out the dough between two kitchen towels and spread the apple filling on the dough. Fold in 2 cm from each side, then roll everything up and brush with the 20 ml of milk. Bake at 180 °C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 40 minutes.
