Argentinian red prawns in tomato sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 8 red prawns, Argentinian, raw, shelled, deveined, ready to cook
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ onion(s), red
  • 1 large garlic clove(s)
  • 200 g tomatoes, pureed
  • n. B. Herbs, Italian
  • 1 bay leaf
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 possibly Pepper
  • some parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 8 minutes

Remove the shrimp from the freezer about an hour in advance and let them thaw. Then pat them dry with kitchen towels. Finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Sauté the onions in 1 tablespoon of olive oil until translucent. Then add the garlic and let it soften briefly. Deglaze everything with the passata. Add the bay leaf. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs, then simmer until the desired consistency is reached. Season the tomato sauce to taste and season again if desired. Fry the shrimp in 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan on both sides, then add them to the sauce. Remove the pan from the heat and let the shrimp simmer for 8-10 minutes. Serve and sprinkle with parsley. Serve with bread, baguette, or pasta. 260 kcal per serving.
