Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg asparagus
- 100 g butter
- 1 bunch of spring onions, if desired
- 4 garlic cloves, more if desired
- Sea salt
- pepper
- 4 tsp lemon juice
- some dill or thyme
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
from the oven
Peel the asparagus as usual. Place a 25g piece of butter in the upper third of each of four large pieces of aluminum foil. Stack 250g of asparagus (and the trimmed spring onions, if desired) on top. Slice the garlic cloves and arrange them on top. Season everything with sea salt, pepper, and lemon juice. If desired, add a sprig of dill or thyme to the parcel. Now fold the foil over and under the asparagus. Place the two sides together facing up and roll them down. Place the parcels on a baking sheet in a preheated oven at 200°C for approx. 30-40 minutes (depending on the thickness of the spears and desired tenderness). When opening, carefully unroll the folded portion and slide the asparagus, along with the deliciously fragrant garlic butter sauce, onto a plate. Serve with baguette.
