Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Rose cake made from quark-oil dough with apples, cranberries and walnuts
First, grease a 26cm or 28cm springform pan and chill. For the filling, peel, quarter, core, and finely dice the apples. Mix the quark with the egg, sugar, and a pinch of cinnamon (by hand, if desired). For the dough, combine the flour and baking powder, briefly mix the remaining ingredients, and add to the flour mixture. Knead everything into a smooth dough. If the dough is too dry/moist, add more milk/flour. Then, on a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 8mm thick. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Spread the cranberries evenly over the dough, spread the quark cream on top, and sprinkle evenly with diced apples and chopped walnuts. Carefully roll up the dough, being careful not to squeeze out the filling. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 2-2.5cm thick slices and place these in the prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes.
