Bacon cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 bunch of leeks
  • 250 g bacon, diced
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 4 large onions
  • 1 bag of cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 1 cube of yeast, not dry yeast
  • 400 g flour
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Dough: Heat the milk, yeast, and butter in the microwave (it can get really hot). Then mix with the flour and knead into a dough. The dough is best left covered on the radiator for about 2 hours. Topping: Finely chop the leek and pre-cook for about 10 minutes. Sauté the onions in a pan, add the bacon, and cook briefly. Beat the eggs in a bowl and add the onions and bacon, then stir in the sour cream, cream, and Emmental cheese and mix everything well. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Spread the dough on a baking sheet and spread the topping on top. Spread the pre-cooked leek over the topping. Bake for about 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, until the dough and topping are golden brown.
