Grate the bacon very finely or chop it with a food processor. This works very well with a Thermomix. For further use, take some of the ground bacon powder and sift the required amount through a fine kitchen sieve, such as a tea strainer. The bacon dust or bacon powder can be stored uncovered in the refrigerator for several weeks. For use in sauces, soups, pasta, etc. A little finely ground, sifted bacon dust adds a very savory and smoky flavor to many dishes.
