Bacon salad with pickles

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g bacon (Black Forest ham strips) from Adler
  • 1 jar Cornichon(s), 370 g drained weight
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 7 tbsp vinegar (Old Master Vinegar), approx. 70 ml
  • 5 tbsp rapeseed oil or sunflower oil, approx. 50 ml
  • 4 tbsp water, approx. 40 ml
  • 1 tsp mustard, milder, e.g. from Thomy
  • 6 dashes of Maggi
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Finely dice the onion and pickles (this is quick with the Tupperware Turbo Chef). Combine the oil, vinegar, water, mustard, Maggi, a little salt, and plenty of pepper in a shaker. Mix the bacon strips with the pickles, onion, and dressing. Season to taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Tips: Only toss the salad with the dressing shortly before serving, as the bacon becomes limp and soggy if left to stand for too long. And if you don’t like onions, you can leave them out.
