Baked asparagus in ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 16 stalk(s) asparagus, equal length and thickness
  • 4 slices of cooked ham (large slices)
  • 5 tbsp coffee cream
  • 1 egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp cheese, grated
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Parsley, chopped
  • Fat for the mold
  • possibly nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Steam peeled asparagus in salted water until al dente. Halve ham slices. Wrap each 2 asparagus spears with a slice of ham, then place the rolls next to each other in a greased baking dish. Whisk the coffee cream and egg well, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, if desired. Mix in 1 tablespoon of grated cheese and pour over the asparagus. Slice the tomatoes and top with the asparagus. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the asparagus. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve. We like it with rice.
