Baked banana

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 60 g wheat flour
  • 60 g potato flour
  • 150 ml beer (Altbier)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp yeast
  • 3 bananas
  • ½ liter vegetable oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

The batter can also be used for other, heartier Far Eastern recipes.

Combine both types of flour with the sugar and yeast, then slowly add the beer while stirring constantly. The batter will retain its liquid consistency and needs to rest for about half an hour before further processing. Then simply dip the peeled bananas, whole or sliced, into the batter and fry in plenty of oil at 3/4 heat for about a minute. Tip: Pineapple, any other fruit, or chicken, can be used instead of bananas. In this case, frying may be necessary for a longer time.
