Baked chicory rolls in tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicory
  • ½ lemon(s), juice
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 250 ml tomato sauce
  • 80 g cheese, grated
  • some fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Remove the outer leaves from the chicory stalks and cut out the bitter stalk at the bottom. Cook the vegetables in boiling salted water with lemon juice for 5 minutes until al dente. Drain the chicory and roll each one in a slice of ham. Place the rolls in a greased, ovenproof dish. Prepare the tomato sauce according to the instructions and pour over the chicory. Sprinkle the dish with cheese and bake for 15 minutes at 200°C (top/bottom heat) or 180°C (fan oven). Serve with mashed potatoes or macaroni. This dish contains approximately 270 kcal per serving.
