Baked White Beans
The perfect baked white beans recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 370 ml Water
- 300 g White beans
- 100 ml Olive oil
- 8 piece Sage leaves
- 3 piece Lemon peel as thick as a thumb
- 2 piece Garlic cloves
- 0,25 tsp Coconut & Curry or Turmeric
- 0,5 tsp Coarsely ground pepper
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- Soak the beans in plenty of water. The next day, pour off the water and rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Cut the garlic into thin slices, peel the wide strips from the lemon peel with a potato peeler (do not take the white layer with you).
- Preheat the oven to 130 ° C top / bottom heat. Put the beans with the garlic, water, lemon zest, turmeric, olive oil and sage leaves in a saucepan with a lid. Cook in the lower third of the oven for 2 hours in a closed pot. Stir every 30-40 minutes.
- After the time has elapsed, season the beans with salt and pepper and cook in the oven for another hour. For the dip, mix the sour cream with lemon juice and serve with it.
