Baked yeast pretzels

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g wheat flour
  • 100 ml cream
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 20 g yeast
  • ½ cup milk
  • powdered sugar
  • 30 g butter
  • Oil for baking
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Place the egg and egg yolks in a bowl. Add the sugar, cream, melted butter, yeast milk, and a pinch of salt and mix. Gradually mix in the flour and stir everything into a soft, smooth dough. Heat a little oil in a pan. Slowly pour the dough through a funnel into the hot oil, forming into pretzels. Cook on the other side until the pretzels have risen and are lightly browned. Drain the pretzels on kitchen paper. Arrange the pastries on a platter, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve. Tip: If the dough is too thick to form pretzels, you can thin it with a little milk.
