Baked zucchini slices with ham and cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large zucchini
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 12 slices of ham
  • 12 slices Emmental or other spicy cheese
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

for large zucchini

Wash the zucchini, cut into approximately 2 cm thick slices, and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Season with salt and a little pepper. Peel the onion, cut into rings, and arrange them on the zucchini slices. Place a slice of ham on each slice and finish with a slice of cheese. The quantities in the recipe are approximate; they depend on how many slices you want to make and the size of the zucchini—I calculated 4 slices per person. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. They’re incredibly delicious; once you’ve tried them, you’ll want to make them again and again! Ideal as a snack or as a light summer dish. Tip: If you have any leftovers, warm them up in a little butter in a pan.
