Banana Sponge Cake

The perfect banana sponge cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 6 Free range eggs
  • 250 g Soft butter
  • 300 g Sugar
  • 2 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa
  • 350 g Flour
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 4 Bananas
  • 1 packet Chocolate shavings dark
  1. Mix the softened butter, sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Add the eggs and stir in. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in two portions. Stir in cocoa and baking soda. Puree the bananas and stir in together with the chocolate shavings. Now put the dough in the prepared form and smooth it out.
  2. Place the cake in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 60 minutes. (Chopsticks sample) After baking, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool down in the tin. If you want, you can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar before serving.
