Banana-Walnut Birthday Cake (Mana Bazi)

The perfect banana-walnut birthday cake (mana bazi) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 8 Eggs
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 200 g Flour
  • 50 g Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 2 kg Powdered sugar
  • 6 Protein
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 20 g Butter
  • 800 ml Cream
  • 3 tbsp Cream stiffener
  • 1 tbsp Rose water
  • 4 piece Banana
  • 100 g Walnuts
  • For decoration:
  • 50 g Chocolate
  • Food coloring – blue, red, green
  • 1 piece Roses and leaf piping tip
  • 4 piece Piping bag
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 c °.
  2. Separate eggs.
  3. Beat the egg whites, sugar and vanilla until stiff, 10 minutes on the highest setting.
  4. Add egg yolk, honey and milk and whisk briefly (30 seconds).
  5. Mix the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder, sieve and fold in.
  6. Grease the baking tin, pour the mixture into the tin and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes.
  7. Cream with 300gr. Beat the icing sugar and cream stiffener until stiff.
  8. Let the cake base cool down and cut horizontally in the middle.
  9. Drizzle with some milk and top with banana and walnuts.
  10. Then brush with cream.
  11. Beat egg white with lemon juice, rose water and powdered sugar until it becomes a solid mass (royal icing).
  12. Color Royal Icing and decorate the cake with it.
