simple and delicious for burger junkies
Peel the onion and slice into rings. Wash the lettuce leaves and tomato. Slice the tomato and shake the lettuce leaves dry (using a salad spinner). For the sauce, combine the ketchup with mustard, honey, smoked salt, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, and season well. Halve the ham/bacon and fry in a pan without fat until crispy, then remove from the pan. Season the tartar with salt and pepper and form into two burger patties. If you have one, use a patty mold/press to ensure they are nicely shaped and even. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion rings for 4-5 minutes. Heat the remaining oil in a pan and fry the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side. Cut open the buns; briefly toast them on a grill or toaster beforehand to make them crispier. Spread the sauce on the buns. Top the bottom half with lettuce leaves, patties, tomato slices, onion rings, and bacon or ham chips. Now top with the top half of the bun and secure with wooden skewers or roulade skewers. Oh, and if you like, you can also convert the burger into a cheeseburger and top it with the cheese of your choice. The calorie count will change accordingly. Now serve and enjoy!
