Berliner from Oven

The perfect berliner from oven recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 350 g Spelled flour type 630
  • 150 ml Milk warm
  • 20 g Fresh yeast
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 2 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • Jam of your choice
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Put the flour in a bowl and make a well. Then pour warm milk, sugar and vanilla sugar into the well. Crumble in the yeast and dissolve. Dust the edge with a little flour and let rise in a warm place until the yeast bubbles.
  2. Then knead everything well with the egg and salt and then add butter, knead well again.
  3. Now shape the dough into 8-15 balls, depending on how big the donuts should be. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let rise for about 45 minutes!

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees!

  1. Berliners in the oven approx. Bake for 10-15 minutes! Then let it cool down a bit!
  2. Then fill each Berliner, e.g. with a large syringe or a large piping nozzle, with jam as desired!
  3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar!
  4. It is best to enjoy lukewarm now! 🙂
