Black Forest Style Muffins

The perfect black forest style muffins recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 150 gr Butter
  • 100 gr Sugar
  • 200 gr Wheat flour
  • 30 gr Cocoa
  • 100 gr Grated chocolate
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 glass Morello cherries
  • Kirsch
  • 1 a cup Sweet cream
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  1. Drain the morello cherries and add the juice. Put the cherries in a bowl and add 4 tablespoons of kirsch and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  2. For the muffin batter, stir the butter until smooth. Gradually stir in the sugar until you have a smooth mixture. Mix in the two eggs one after the other
  3. Mix flour with baking powder and cocoa and stir in. Finally stir in the chopped chocolate and the alcoholized cherries.
  4. Fill the dough into muffin tins and bake for about 25 minutes on top / bottom heat at 180 ° C on the middle rack.
  5. Bring 10 tablespoons of morello juice and 5 tablespoons of sugar to the boil for about 1 minute and then chill.
  6. Let the baked muffins cool for 15 minutes.
  7. Pierce the muffins several times with a fork and drizzle each muffin with 1 teaspoon of kirsch.
  8. Beat the cream and vanilla sugar until stiff and fold in 1 tablespoon of kirsch. Pour into a piping bag and pour onto the muffins.
  9. Then garnish each whipped cream with a cherry, a little cold sauce from step 5 and chocolate shavings
