Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 ml water
- 200 g sugar
- 100 g margarine
- 2 tbsp oil
- 150 g flour
- 2 tsp, heaped cocoa
- 2 tbsp, heaped almonds, chopped
- 2 tbsp, heaped almonds, ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
vegan, with almonds
Bring the water and sugar to the boil in a saucepan, stir, and continue to simmer gently. Melt the margarine in a slightly higher pan. First sweat the flour together with the cocoa and the chopped and ground almonds, then add the oil. Fry everything for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly (I always use a softer kitchen friend to loosen the mixture that always sticks to the bottom of the pan). Then reduce the heat a little and briefly remove the pan from the stove. Now that it is boiling and still very hot, gradually pour the sugar water onto the flour mixture. It may smoke and hiss a lot. Stir in the sugar water until the flour has combined with the water. Only then stir in more hot sugar water. Repeat this process until all the sugar water has been used up. Use a scoop to form small balls from the mixture and arrange them on a serving platter.
