Blackberry – Mustard …

The perfect blackberry – mustard … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 400 g Blackberries fresh
  • 30 Milliliters Balsamic vinegar
  • 80 g Brown sugar
  • 0,5 Fresh shallot
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard seeds
  • Ground pepper white
  • Salt
  1. Sort, wash and finely puree the blackberries. Bring the blackberry puree, balsamic vinegar and sugar to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer gently on a low heat for five minutes. Take off the stove.
  2. Peel the shallot, dice very finely. Mix into the blackberry sauce. Grind the mustard seeds very finely. Stir into the sauce.
  3. Heat the sauce again. Season to taste with pepper and salt. Fill into prepared bottles and close. Store in the refrigerator.
  4. Personally, next time I would strain the blackberry puree through a sieve before further processing. … the kernels bother me … 😉
