Christmas Energy Balls: How To Make The Healthy Snack Yourself

Christmas snacking without a lot of sugar, but with lots of healthy ingredients: Energy balls are delicious energy bombs that you can easily make yourself.

Spices, cinnamon, marzipan – Christmas is simply delicious! But every cookie is also a little calorie bomb. How can all that excess sugar, fat, and calories be turned into something better that you’re more likely to reconcile with your conscience?

These healthy Power Balls promise a Christmas treat with no regrets!

Recipe for energy balls with gingerbread flavor.

Molasses syrup, preferably sugar cane molasses, and spices make these Power Balls irresistible. Sugar cane molasses is a great sweetener that also contains B vitamins, magnesium, iron, and selenium, and brings that typical gingerbread flavor.

For 12 to 14 Power Balls, you’ll need:

  • one cup of oatmeal
  • one tablespoon of Pumpkin Pie Mix
  • half a cup of creamy almond butter, Raw
  • two tablespoons of sugar cane molasses
  • two tablespoons of coconut oil, warmed
  • a pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Here’s how to prepare the energy balls.
  2. Grind the rolled oats in a food processor.
  3. Put them in a bowl with all the other ingredients and work them into a uniform dough, either by hand, with a spatula, or with the dough hooks of a hand mixer.
  4. Pick up some dough at a time with a tablespoon and roll the Power Balls by hand.
  5. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put this in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. The Christmas Power Balls will keep for two weeks in the refrigerator and three months in the freezer.

Cinnamon, with its warming properties, is a particularly great winter spice. These Power Balls taste deliciously of cinnamon, get a lovely sweetness from maple syrup, and a Christmas bite from dates.

For 10 to 12 Power Balls, you’ll need:

  • half a cup, or about six Medjool dates without stones
  • one cup pecans
  • one-third cup of coconut flakes
  • half a cup of almond butter
  • one tablespoon of cinnamon powder
  • a pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. How to prepare the cinnamon energy balls
  2. In preparation, look at the dates. If the dates are very dry, put them in water for 20-30 minutes. Then dry them before you start.
  3. Process them into a paste in a high-powered blender, then add the pecans and chop and mix them with the pecan paste.
  4. Then add maple almond butter, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Mix everything until you have a sticky, firm dough, but don’t over-mix because that might release the oils from the pecans.
  6. Pick up some dough at a time with a tablespoon and roll the Power Balls by hand.
  7. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put this in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. The Cinnamon Power Balls will keep for two weeks in the refrigerator and three months in the freezer. So you can snack healthy at Christmas!
