Detox juices: Do it yourself or buy it?

If you plan to juice more often or integrate detox juices into your daily routine, it’s a good idea to make the drinks yourself. However, you will need a juicer to do this. If you first want to find out whether a cure is right for you, you can start with purchased bottles. We’ve picked out three different manufacturers for you.

Recipes: Detox drinks to make yourself

Detox juice 1: Green power in the morning

Green juices aren’t just a fad, because they actually come with brilliant benefits.

Once hated, now loved: spinach. The superfood contains antioxidants, vitamins C and B, and a high beta-carotene content. Just like celery, spinach contains potassium and calcium. Addition, magnesium, and iron are also added. These two ingredients alone improve blood and skin conditions and detoxify the liver. If you add apple, cucumber & Co. to the mix, there’s really a no better way to start the day – is there?

Ingredients:

  • 50 g fresh spinach
  • 150 g celery
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 15 g parsley
  • 1/2 lime

Tip: For best results, alternate hard and soft ingredients in a juicer or puree with a blender. Depending on your taste, you can add another orange.

Detox juice 2: Red and berry with a spicy note.

Admittedly, beet is probably not at the top of the list of favorite juices either. Yet it is also a real nutrient bomb because it is rich in vitamin B, folic acid, potassium, and iron. Combine it with the spiciness of ginger and the vitamins of blackberry and apple, and you have a powerful red detox juice. For even more vitamin C, you can add a lemon – et voila!

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 small beet tubers
  • 2 apples
  • 150 g blackberries
  • 1-2 cm ginger

Again, alternate juicing beet, apple, ginger, and blackberries.

Detox Juice 3: The Rehydrator

To rehydrate the body, it is best to add citrus fruits to it, in addition to water, because they are rich in electrolytes. In combination with water, they can develop their effect best. For an extra plus, we add here a pinch of Himalayan salt, which is simply unbeatable with its trace elements.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 oranges
  • ¼ grapefruit
  • ¼ lemon
  • 1 pinch of Himalayan salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp honey

Peel the citrus, juice it, and put the juice in a blender with salt, water, and honey.

Detox juice 4: The tropical mineral bomb

This detox juice is a real mineral bomb with its high content of potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and iron. In addition, there is provitamin A, as well as vitamins of the B and C groups. The cucumber shines with its high water content and also contributes vitamin K. Tropical pineapple is a welcome change from the usual vegetable juices. And best of all, mint can also alleviate headaches, which unfortunately often occur as a side effect during fasting. So this drink is a win-win situation, so to speak.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pineapple (approx. 350g)
  • 3/4 cucumber (approx. 200g)
  • 50g fresh spinach
  • 15g mint

Blend all ingredients – and add some water or alternatively orange juice depending on your preference.

Detox juice 5: The cleanser

Fresh carrot, apple, celery, and beet juice helps to cleanse the liver and therefore also promote the regenerative and healing powers of the skin. Carrots, in addition to beta-carotene, contain silicones that provide healthy skin and nails. Fruits and vegetables containing carotenoids also provide a rosy complexion and provide the skin with a light SPF as protection from the sun.

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 beet
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1 apple
  • ½ lemon

Juice all ingredients together and serve with ice.

How does a juice cure work?

During a juice cure, in addition to water and unsweetened tea, cold-pressed fruit, and vegetable juice is also drunk – and up to six glasses at intervals of about two hours. Optionally also light soups can be integrated into the cure of everyday life. However, salt, for example, is completely avoided.

How long you would like to make your cure, is left completely to you and your internal pig dog, because during the juice chamfering solid food and small everyday loads are renounced. For beginners, a short period of time should be planned for the time being. Before your cure, you should already avoid nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, and animal proteins, in order to facilitate the conversion. With thorough preparation and good physical condition, the detox cure will have a positive effect on the body, mind, and soul.

It is also worthwhile to include juices in your daily diet. For which occasion the respective recipe is suitable, you can find out here.

Detox cure: What is the benefit?

The body is burdened daily with medications, pesticides in the diet, unhealthy eating habits, and possibly nicotine and alcohol. Juice cleanses will stimulate the body’s natural cleansing processes to eliminate these pollutants. If you often suffer from fatigue or listlessness, detox juices can help you regulate your energy balance. This way you will be fitter and more dynamic throughout the day. In addition, the cure can be wonderfully integrated into your daily routine. And you don’t have to do without sports and exercise either: Yoga, Pilates, and long walks are the ideal complement.

By abstaining from alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, fast food, and animal products, your body can find the right balance again. In addition, the cure is the ideal starting point for a more conscious lifestyle.

Can I lose weight with Detox juices?

A course of detox juices alone is not suitable for losing weight. Of course, the short-term renunciation of solid food causes weight loss. However, this is rather due to water loss and muscle breakdown. And since the body is in a stressful situation, it retrieves the fat reserves after fasting. Thus an undesired Jojo effect is to be foreseen. Nevertheless, a detox juice cure is an ideal prelude to a change in diet and a healthier lifestyle, whereby weight loss is definitely possible.
