The hostess needs to be picky about the condition of each potato, preparing it for long-term storage in the apartment. Potatoes must be intact, without signs of rot or damage. Even one spoiled potato can spoil several kilos.

Very often hostesses have a question about how long potatoes can be stored at room temperature. The ideal storage temperature for this vegetable is between 4 and 5 °C. Potatoes are best stored in conditions of 80% humidity.

It is important to remember that potatoes do not like their proximity to other vegetables. However, you can safely store potatoes at home next to beets. It will absorb excess moisture.

Potatoes are best stored in the refrigerator’s vegetable container. Before doing so, wash and dry each potato. Pack it in a cloth or paper baggie. Avoid polyethylene, otherwise, condensation will form and “kill” your vegetable.
