In order to cook delicious porridge, it must be properly prepared. The cereal should be rinsed under running water several times until the liquid becomes clear. Then decide on what you will cook porridge – water or milk.

Unsweetened porridge turns out better on water, but for a sweet dish, we recommend using milk or a mixture of milk and water. As a rule, for 1 cup of cereal, you need to take 3 cups of liquid if you like a viscous structure, and for crumbly porridge, 2 cups of water or milk will be enough.

How to cook wheat porridge with water in a pot – a recipe

You need to take the necessary amount of cereal, pour it into a saucepan, and pour cold water or milk. Stirring, cook the porridge until it boils, then turn down the heat and continue to cook for 20-30 minutes until it thickens. Remove the pot from the heat and let the porridge stand for 15-20 minutes under a lid. You can additionally wrap the dish with a warm towel.

How to cook wheat porridge in the multicooker – technology

Put wheat groats in the bowl of a multicooker, pour milk or water, select the mode “Porridge” or “Cereal” and cook for 35 minutes. Additionally, you can turn on the mode “Warming” for 5-10 minutes, so that the porridge can better stand.

If you want to use any additives to the porridge, then proceed from the degree of its sweetness. For the unsweetened dish is optimal to make a jam of onions and carrots, and add salt and herbs. Sweet porridge will taste better if you add a little butter, cinnamon, condensed milk, or honey.
