To get rid of unpleasant odors from towels, there are several effective and efficient ways.

The answer to the question of whether you can wash towels with citric acid is unequivocally positive, but there are a few mandatory nuances for the application of this means. First, you need to wash the towels with simple laundry soap in hot water. To get rid of the smell of towels with citric acid, you need to pour it on the soiled areas of the towel and wait for about half an hour until it is absorbed. Then rinse by hand in cold water.

You can also use vinegar for odor. Towels before washing should be soaked in a solution with vinegar: 250 ml per 10 liters of water. After a few minutes, things can be put in the machine for washing.

A mixture of vinegar and baking soda will well help in eliminating the unpleasant smell coming from the towels. Products should be held for about 5 minutes in a solution consisting of vinegar and baking soda: for every 8 liters of water, 1 cup of the product. After the start of washing, when the water is hot, the machine should be put on pause mode, so that the fibers of the towels are soaked in baking soda and vinegar. After an hour, you can continue washing in the standard mode.

To get rid of the bad smell of the towels, the microwave oven will help: it is enough to hold them in the microwave for one minute, and then be sure to wash them in warm water afterward.

You can also boil the towels since any bacteria perish when exposed to high temperatures. This method is only suitable for items made of natural fabrics. To boil the towels, you can take a large saucepan or a washing machine, using a mode with water heating to 90-95 degrees.

A good way to get rid of the unpleasant smell of towels is to soak them in bleach before washing them in the machine. It is important to follow the instructions regarding the dosage and time so as not to ruin them.
