Börek with minced meat filling

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 package of dough sheets (yufka)
  • 500 g minced meat (beef, lamb, poultry)
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • some salt
  • some pepper, from the mill
  • some paprika powder, hot
  • some cayenne pepper
  • some water to deglaze
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • some oil for the deep fryer

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Brown the minced meat well, add the tomato paste. Finely dice the onion and bell pepper and add it. Crush the garlic and add it, deglaze with a little liquid. Let it simmer for a while, then season with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of sugar. Let the mixture cool slightly. Then place 1 tablespoon of filling on each pastry sheet and roll up from the wide side. Fry the pastry rolls in batches in hot oil for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
