Bratwurst and potato casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g bratwurst (Thuringian Roster or other grilled bratwurst)
  • 1,000 g potatoes
  • 200 ml beer
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • pepper
  • Salt
  • marjoram

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Form the roasted potatoes into small balls and fry in a little oil. Remove from the pan and place in a baking dish. Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes. Fry in oil until almost cooked, then arrange them on top of the roasted potatoes in the baking dish. Mix the pepper, salt, marjoram with the beer and sweet cream and pour over the potatoes in the baking dish. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at a preheated 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes.
