Bratwurst – potato pan with cabbage

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 500 g pointed cabbage or white cabbage
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 30 g smoked ham, diced
  • 4 pieces of medium-sized bratwurst
  • salt and pepper
  • marjoram
  • 125 ml vegetable stock

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the potatoes, cut into small cubes, and then rinse; cut the cabbage into bite-sized pieces; and dice the onions. Heat oil in a pan and lightly fry the ham, then add the onions and fry them as well. Remove from the pan and set aside. Now fry the sausages in the pan; they shouldn’t get too brown. Remove the sausages from the pan and fry the potato pieces in the frying fat until golden brown. Shortly before the end of the cooking time, add the cabbage, season everything with salt, pepper, and marjoram, and fry for another 3-5 minutes. Place the potatoes and cabbage in a baking dish. Spread the ham and onions evenly on top, then pour in the vegetable stock and place the sausages on top. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 200°C for about 50 minutes. If you have an oven-safe frying pan, you can of course do without the baking dish.
