Bratwurst skewers

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sausages
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 12 small mushrooms, fresh
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Dried herbs to taste, e.g. thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Use coarse or fine sausages, depending on your taste. Cut the sausages into 3-4 equal pieces, depending on their size. Wash and deseed the bell peppers, then cut them into pieces approximately 3 x 3 cm in size. Clean the fresh mushrooms and halve any large ones. Thread the ingredients alternately onto the skewers. Each skewer should ultimately have one sausage on it. If the skewers are too small, prepare two skewers per person. Place the finished skewers in a bowl or on a baking sheet and drizzle with a little oil. Sprinkle with herbs to taste. Place the seasoned skewers in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to allow the herbs to infuse. Later, just drain off some of the oil and hit the grill!
