Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 200 g butter
  • 200 g low-fat curd cheese, dry
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 g ham
  • 100 g blue cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some salt, coarse
  • some sesame

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

The party hit, made with quark dough

Knead the flour with cold butter, quark, and a pinch of salt, and let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Finely chop the ham and mix it with the crumbled blue cheese. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a square measuring approximately 40 x 40 cm (it doesn’t have to be exact!) and cut into 4 squares. Divide these into 8 triangles. Place a little filling in the center of each of the 8 pieces. Roll up from the wide side, shape into croissants, and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and/or coarse salt. Bake for about 15 minutes. The croissants taste best fresh from the oven. We also enjoy eating them cold. We prefer to eat them plain, but they also go well with cheese bites or a green salad. We’ve also made it with hard cheese cubes, and it tastes delicious too!
