Bread and tomato salad with feta cheese

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 slices of bread (country bread)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 5 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 80 g sheep’s cheese
  • 3 sprig(s) oregano or 1 tsp dried
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, lighter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

A summery dish that’s a great way to use up old bread.

Cut the bread into cubes and toast them well on all sides in butter in a non-stick pan. Set aside. Wash and dice the tomatoes. Roughly crumble the feta cheese or cut it into small cubes. Wash the oregano, pat dry, and pick off the leaves. Place the tomatoes, bread, and feta cheese in a bowl. Peel and press the garlic clove, and add it. Add the oregano, sugar, vinegar, and olive oil, mix thoroughly, and season with salt and pepper.
