Bread dumpling salad

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 dumplings (bread dumplings), cold
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 5 large mushrooms, fresh
  • some bacon, optional
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
  • some olive oil
  • some vinegar
  • some balsamic vinegar

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the bread dumplings into 1-2 cm cubes and place in a bowl. Peel the onion, slice into rings, and then quarter the rings. Thickly slice the mushrooms. Finely dice the bacon and fry in the pan with the mushrooms. The bacon can be slightly browned before adding the mushrooms. Deglaze everything with vinegar and balsamic vinegar. Mix the onion with the dumplings, pour over olive oil, and carefully fold in the lukewarm mushroom and bacon mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Caution: The bacon can make it salty. Tastes lukewarm, but also delicious cold. Goes well with grilled food, a green salad, or just on its own.
