Breaded leek stalks

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 stalk(s) leeks
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp wheat flour
  • Fat, for frying
  • 3 tbsp cheese, grated Gouda
  • 6 slice(s) ham, cooked
  • 2 tbsp parsley (chopped)
  • tbsp breadcrumbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the cleaned and washed leek stalks into evenly sized pieces, approximately 8 cm long. Boil in salted water until almost tender, remove from the pan, and drain. Whisk the milk and egg. Coat the leeks first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumbs. Press the coating firmly into the pan. Heat enough fat in a pan (or deep fryer), then float the leeks in it, and arrange on a preheated platter. Garnish with ham rolls and sprinkle with cheese and parsley.
