Breadsticks

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g whole wheat flour
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • n. B. Spice mix, Italian (optional)
  • some olive oil
  • e.g. spice(s), salt, cheese, herbs, etc.

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Put the flour and dry yeast in a bowl and sprinkle over the sugar to aid yeast activity. Optionally, add an Italian spice mix. Then add the warm water and wait 2-3 minutes before kneading everything into a moist, sticky ball. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise at room temperature for about 2 hours. For best results, you can refrigerate the dough overnight. Dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough flat, as the breadsticks will expand during baking. Then cut into strips and twist them slightly. Place the breadsticks on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving space between them, and brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, herbs, or Parmesan cheese, if desired. Bake in an oven preheated to 250°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes on the middle rack. Add a bowl of water to keep the breadsticks soft on the inside.
