Brussels sprout and apple pan

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ½ tbsp powdered sugar or sugar
  • 1 apple
  • 500 g Brussels sprouts
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 100 ml broth
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 6 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 16 minutes

ideal in winter when Brussels sprouts are in season

Wash the Brussels sprouts, remove the stems and outer leaves. Halve or quarter the florets depending on their size. Quarter the apple, core it, and cut into wedges. Peel the onion and cut into medium-sized cubes. Prepare the broth. Heat the sugar in a high pan and let it caramelize until light brown. Add the apple slices and oil, and lightly fry the apples. Season with salt, then add the Brussels sprouts and fry briefly. Then add the broth and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for five minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
