Brussels sprout cake

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 100 g butter or margarine
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp water, cold
  • Salt
  • 500 g Brussels sprouts
  • 400 g smoked turkey
  • 50 g bacon (belly bacon)
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 g sour cream
  • nutmeg
  • pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Make a smooth dough from butter, flour, egg, water, and salt and chill for 20 minutes. Trim and wash the Brussels sprouts, then cook in boiling salted water for 15-20 minutes, then drain. Cut the turkey into large cubes and finely dice the bacon. Mix the eggs with the sour cream and season with nutmeg, pepper, and salt. Roll out the dough and place it in a greased springform pan, pressing the edges firmly together. Arrange the Brussels sprouts and turkey cubes on top. Sprinkle with bacon and pour the egg mixture over the dough. Bake for about 40 minutes at 200°C (electric oven) or Mark 3 (gas oven).
