Mercimekli Bulgur Pilaf

Let the bulgur gravy simmer in a bowl with lukewarm water. Cook the lentils briefly according to the package instructions, then drain. In a pan, fry the finely chopped onions with margarine or butter until crispy and brown. Add the bulgur gravy and lentils and mix well. Add enough water to lightly cover the mixture and simmer on the lowest heat for 10-15 minutes. Mix the yogurt with the garlic and serve. Garnish with fresh parsley. If you like it spicy, add a dash of chili. This is an old Turkish recipe from my grandmother that we love. It’s perfect as a main course or as a side dish to meat dishes.
