Burger with onion rings

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g minced beef
  • 25 g oat flakes
  • 1 ½ tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tbsp mustard
  • 1 small egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • ¼ tsp oregano, shredded
  • some cheese
  • 1 tomato(s), approx.
  • some lettuce leaves
  • 2 pickled gherkins, approx.
  • 2 burger buns
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter for spreading on the rolls
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying the patties

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Knead the ground beef with oats, ketchup, milk, mustard, and egg into a smooth dough. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Form the ground beef mixture into two equal-sized patties. Heat the oil in a pan, sear the patties on both sides, then cook for another 7 minutes over low heat. Slice the half onion into rings, add to the pan with the meat, and cook briefly. Halve the buns and brush with butter, then grill or fry in a pan. Place the patties on the burger buns and place the onions on top. Top the burger with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, or pickles, as desired.
