Butter beans

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g wax beans (yellow beans)
  • 80 g butter
  • Salt
  • breadcrumbs

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Fried yellow beans, simple but delicious home cooking like grandma used to make

Trim the ends of the fresh beans, trim the beans, and cook them in salted water for about 15-20 minutes. Then drain. Melt the butter in a large pan and fry the beans until browned, turning frequently. After about 10 minutes, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and fry for another 5 minutes, turning them frequently. If I have guests and need to make a large batch of beans, I cook the beans the day before, drain them, and then let them cool in the pot. The next day, I add them straight to the melted butter, saving me the time of chopping and pre-cooking on the day I prepare them. Goes well with any kind of pot roast, schnitzel, or simply with a buttered sandwich for dinner.
