Butter Braid

The perfect butter braid recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 450 g Flour
  • 1 0,2 ML Glas Sugar
  • 1 P. Vanillin
  • 1 P. Dry yeast
  • 1 Slices of butter, melted
  • 1 Glass Milk
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1 pinch Salt
  1. Knead everything well to form a dough, possibly pour in some milk or add an egg or flour. Dough should be well kneaded and not sticky. If you like raisins, you can also knead raisins. Shape into a ball and let rest for about 45 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into 3 balls of the same size, roll them into strands and braid them into a plait.
  3. Bake the braid for about 25 minutes at 180 degrees. Then cover with lemon icing or powdered sugar, if you like. You can also decorate the braid with nuts, there are no limits to your imagination.
