Buttermilk waffles

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 800 ml buttermilk
  • 4 m.-sized eggs
  • 4 tbsp oil, for brushing
  • some powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

without butter – saves approx. 2500 kcal

Combine the flour and sugar in a bowl with the baking powder. Then add the buttermilk and mix everything with a mixer. The batter should drip heavily from the spoon. Add more buttermilk if necessary. Separate the eggs. Add the egg yolks to the batter and mix well. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and carefully fold them into the batter with a wooden spoon. The batter should now be nice and light and airy. Bake in a waffle iron that isn’t too hot. This recipe makes enough for four good waffle eaters to enjoy with coffee. Add cream, cherries, applesauce, powdered sugar… to each their own!
