The perfect cabbage rolls with minced meat recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the mashed potatoes

  • 1 disc Toast
  • 750 g Ground beef
  • 2 Pc. Eggs
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder
  • 2 tsp Mustard
  • 3 tbsp Germ oil
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 l Vegetable broth
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Sauce binders
  • 300 g Potatoes
  • 80 ml Milk
  1. Pour water over the cabbage in a saucepan and cook briefly until the leaves are soft. Lift out and detach individual cabbage leaves from the head.
  2. Debark the toast, soak in water and place in a bowl along with the mince, eggs, mustard and spices. Knead well together.
  3. Now fill the cabbage leaves with the minced meat mixture. Always place a long piece of filling in the middle of a cabbage leaf. Then fold the sheet in and roll it so that it is closed.
  4. Heat the germ oil in a pan. Fry the roulades on all sides until golden brown. Now add the tomato paste and pour in the vegetable stock. Put the lid on and let it simmer for about half an hour.
  5. Remove the cabbage rolls. Season the sauce with sugar, salt and pepper. Add some sauce thickener to get a creamy sauce.
  6. Homemade mashed potatoes go well with it. To do this, peel and boil the potatoes. Drain and process into puree with a potato masher. Stir in the warm milk and season with salt and pepper.
