A neighbor’s recipe… Delicious!!!!!!
Make a medium-firm yeast dough from the ingredients. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes (possibly longer, as the dough should double in size). Divide into small portions (about 12 pieces) and form into balls. Toss in melted butter and place in a baking dish, but not too tightly. Let rise again for about 30 minutes. Then bake at 180°C for about 30 minutes. Let cool briefly, then turn out and immediately sprinkle with sugar. Let cool again for about 5 minutes, then carefully separate the “noodles” and let cool completely. Serve with vanilla sauce or fruit compote. Filled “noodles”: proceed as above. Just before the second rise, place peeled and possibly pitted pieces of fruit (apples, plums, or sour cherries are suitable) in the center of each small ball. If using plums, add 1 sugar cube to each. Then proceed as above.
