Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 750 g flour
- 1 ½ liters of milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 5 eggs
- 80 g yeast
- Salt
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Dissolve the yeast and sugar in 1/4 liter of lukewarm milk. Sift the flour into a bowl, pour the yeast milk into a well, and let the bowl stand in a warm place, covered with a cloth, for about 20 minutes. Then add the eggs and mix well with the yeast milk, the remaining lukewarm milk, and a pinch of salt using a wooden spoon. Cover the finished pancake mixture with a cloth and let it rise for half an hour. Pour the batter into the pan in batches and bake until golden brown. Brush with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, if desired, or serve with hot cherries and vanilla ice cream.
