Caramelized onions with kohlrabi puree

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 m.-sized potatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion(s), red
  • 2 m.-large shallot(s)
  • 2 small kohlrabi
  • salt and pepper
  • chili
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • Butter or margarine or oil
  • some milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

vegetarian – simple – delicious

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water. Meanwhile, finely slice the red onion and shallots. Finely chop the garlic. Sauté in a little fat (oil, margarine, or butter) in a pan until toasted. Season with salt, pepper, and chili. Caramelize with the sugar. Drain the cooked potatoes and mash them with milk and butter. Peel and grate the raw kohlrabi, then mix it into the mash. Season with salt and pepper and stir the caramelized onion mixture into the mash. Serve!
